Both international and US domestic markets grew for Harmonic in 2008 as the video delivery company reported an increase in net sales of 17% to $365 million. Domestic sales represented 47% of revenues and international 44%.
“2008 was an outstanding year for our Company, with record revenues, gross margins and earnings,” said Patrick Harshman, President and CEO. “Underlying our success was the expanding range of video service providers around the globe who have selected Harmonic to power their mission-critical video services.
Harshman said that despite the current economic uncertainty the company remained confident that its technology leadership and diversified customer base meant the company was well positioned to increase its global market share in 2009. He anticipated a number of product introductions and the completion of the Scopus acquisition announced in December.
