Turkish state broadcaster TRT will launch a second international channel, mainly focussing on entertainment, on March 21. Aimed at Turkish native speakers in Europe, the Middle East, the Balkans and the Central Asia, it will co-exist with the current TRT-INT channel.
At the same, time TRT-INT programming and on-air identity will receive a make-over. The service will specialise in news and cultural programming.
This is the second channel launch this year for the broadcaster, as on January 1 TRT launched TRT 6, which broadcasts in Kurdish 24 hours a day.
