Disney-ABC-ESPN Television has appointed Stephen Moore as its executive VP and MD for Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Canada.
Moore will be based in London and report to Ben Pyne, president, global distribution, Disney-ABC Worldwide Television and Disney Media Networks.
Welcoming Moore to the company Pyne said his wealth of experience made him the ideal fit with Disney’s creative content business. “Our Disney-ABC-ESPN Television team has excelled in building strong international distribution partnerships for brands such as Disney Channel, Jetix, ESPN, Walt Disney Pictures, ABC Studios – some of the most sought-after channel and content brands in the world, and we have ambitious plans to expand these brands’ global presence.”
When he joins in late February, Moore will take responsible for Disney’s multiplatform television business that includes DTT, VOD, broadband, and mobile.
Moore is moving from UK-based creator and distributor of pre-school programming Abbey Home Media PLC, where he was a partner. He was previously COO and head of features at Wallace and Gromit producer Aardman Animations and before that held senior roles with Twentieth Century Fox International.
