Poland’s transition to digital broadcasting has hit yet another obstacle.
According to Satkurier, the Office of Electronic Communications (UKE) has refused to endorse a strategy for the transition published last week by the National Broadcasting Council (KRRiT).
Among its reasons for doing so were the absence of a requirement for existing broadcasters to surrender their analogue licences once they have received digital ones.
The KRRiT would like to see Poland launch its first DTT multiplex, initially available in Warsaw, Poznan, Zielona Góra and Zagan, this September and for ASO to take place on July 31, 2013.
