Richard Alden is to step down as CEO of Spanish cablenet ONO. It follows a reorganisation of the company that sees the establishment of a new directorate headed by former BSkyB CFO Martin Stewart.
Although it is in the midst of a redundancy programme, ONO intends to strengthen its marketing and sales departments and bring its corporate business into a single division. Television Networks & Technology, Internet & Information Systems, Finance and Planning will remain unchanged.
“The new organisation announced today meets three basic objectives: to be even closer to the customer, to reduce the levels of decision and further improve the efficiency of our model,” said Jose Maria Castilian, president of ONO. ”
Castilian praised Alden’s contribution to the growth of the company and indicated he would remain in post until a successor was appointed.
