Popular US shows including Medium, Numb3rs (pictured), Californication and 90210 will be available on demand up to a week before their linear transmission following an agreement between TV4 Group and CBS Paramount International Studios.
TV4 head of acquisitions Clara Scherman said it was a positive move for the broadcaster to secure a further agreement with a major Hollywood player. “CBS Paramount International Studios have delivered strong titles to the TV4 Group’s television channels for several years and the contract for TV4 Anytime is a natural continuation of our cooperation,” she said.
Viewers will be able to access the shows both online and over the Telia IPTV Network. Most shows will have a seven-day window on their linear transmission and then be available for a further three weeks.
TV4 says it has seen an increased demand for US originated content. Last year it secured a similar agreement with NBC Universal, securing the rights to shows including House and Heroes.
