The UK based online TV provider Global Digital Broadcast has launched two new channels: Love Comedy TV from comedy writers Warren Dudley and Roger O’Hara, and the Velugu Television Network (VTN), from the Indian Velugu Society for Spiritual Communications.
Primarily set up to air their comedy feature film ‘Dogberry and Bob – The Movie’, which won the People’s Choice award at The End Of The Pier International Film Festival 2008, Love Comedy TV has now become a platform for makers of brand new comedy from around the world. Despite offers and talks with various UK distribution companies, Sixty6 Films decided to use its own IPTV channel as a first point of distribution for feature films.
VTN has extended its broadcast reach into the UK with a bouquet of positive and family-friendly Christian programming, including preaching, teaching and music. Dedicated to “wholesome and soul-searching content”, VTN was launched by the registered, non-profit, Christian organisation in order to spread the Christian word to Indians in India and worldwide.
VTN now joins the Global Digital Broadcast (GDBTV) IPTV platform for inclusion on GDBTV’s own online Go TV UK portal and the Something TV UK set-top box service. Content on the channel is free to view, with 80% linear and 20% on demand.
