The French competition authority Conseil de la concurrence is to investigate the merger between CanalSat and TPS following complaints, according to local newspaper reports.
Complainants allege that Canal+ has not fully complied with its promise to offer some channels to all distributors and continued to keep exclusive rights to a number of channels, as well as to mainly US movies on its VOD platform.
According to the reports, Canal + recently demanded a reduction of its obligations, arguing that the arrival of Orange TV has now changed the market situation. Just last week, the Conseil also announced an investigation into Orange TV with regards to exclusivity deals on their IPTV service.
