CES 2009 – LAS VEGAS. Sarah Austin, video blogger and founder of Pop17, has announced the launch of techku, a new 24/7 internet channel. Techku will focus on original content in the technology space and combine live video with produced shows, and correspondent segments from around the globe.
Utilizing the model of CurrentTV, techku hopes to be the first online technology news television network, featuring up-to-the-minute coverage and breaking news in real time. With support from Mogulus, techku will have its first broadcast to a global audience as it presents live coverage from the 2009 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES).
To start, techku has a specialized team of known video and technology bloggers. Later, when the techku portal launches, the ability to broadcast will expand to any user. “Techku will leverage the star power of video broadcasters to empower the bright new faces of tomorrow through our professional broadcast channel,” said Sarah Austin in a statement.
