Bouygues Telecom has chosen to deploy the Verimatrix Video Content Authority System for its IPTV service in France. Bouygues Telecom is securing its MPEG-4 live broadcast and on demand video content delivered via ASDL to the BBOX home gateway, launched in October 2008.
Bouygues Telecom has deployed an IPTV system combining the services delivered by two major headends in France. The TV channel line-up is a combination of several free-to-air and premium pay channels, including Canal+.
“Bouygues Telecom is a substantial operator in a very competitive IPTV market,” said Steve Oetegenn, chief sales and marketing officer at Verimatrix, in a statement. “We were able to cost effectively deliver our solution, which easily integrates with its innovative BBOX home gateway. VCAS’ inherent flexibility enables Bouygues Telecom to leverage its advanced network for future video distribution business models.”
