Poland’s Office of Competition and Consumer Protection (UOKiK) has expressed serious misgivings about contracts offered by five of the country’s leading cable operators.
The five in question – UPC, Vectra, Multimedia Polska, Aster and Toya – had, along with the telcos Dialog, Tele2, Netia and GTS Energis, the terms of their contracts examined by IMAS International on behalf of the regulator earlier this year.
The main concerns relate to the difficulties involved in cancelling contracts and the unreliable information given to subscribers about changes to offers.
The UOKiK speaks of the arbitrary changes the operators sometimes make to programme packages and problems subscribers then have in changing the packages they receive.
