The Czech movie channel Nova Cinema will make its debut on DTT on December 15.
The news was given by Petr Dovrak, the head of TV Nova, in an interview quoted in HN.
Nova Cinema was only granted its DTT licence last week by the Czech Radio and TV Council (RRTV), and it comes into effect on the date of the planned the DTT launch.
Although Nova Cinema can currently be received via cable and DTH in 27% of Czech TV homes, the figure will rise to 50% once it is also available on DTT and 65% by the end of next year.
Nova Cinema, which despite still making a loss is already the leading film channel in the Czech Republic, will be distributed terrestrially on a transponder operated by Ceske Radiokomunikace (CRa).
