The city council of the twin cities of Edam and Volendam has decided to keep ownership the cable network but to sign a contract with Ziggo for the delivery of TV signals.
Originally, it was planned to sell the network to Ziggo, but the city council stopped the process.
The two cities, which are international tourist destinations, have now signed a two-year contract with Ziggo for the delivery of digital TV services.
After the contract runs out, a sale of the network will again be considered.
