The Slovak Council for Broadcasting and Retransmission (Rada) has postponed a decision on whether to award a second licence to the national commercial station TV Markiza.
Parabola reports that it will now not be made until the middle of this month, when the regulator again meets, at the earliest. TV Markiza, which is backed by CME, plans to launch a second channel as soon as Q1 2009.
It would target mostly female viewers and be a response to TV Joj Plus, a service offering mostly movies and classic series launched by the rival station TV Joj in October.
