The Romanian DTH platform Dolce ended Q3 with 559.000 subscribers, or 268,000 more than in the same quarter in 2007.
At the same time, its operator, the Romanian incumbent telco Romtelecom, had 567,000 ADSL lines, a 135% increase on 12 months earlier.
Romtelecom, which is majority (54.01%) owned by Greece’s OTE, saw its revenues rose by 2.1% year-on-year in the third quarter to €214 million, though its OIBDA was 6.6% lower at €72 million.
Although Romtelecom is one of the leading players in Romania’s DTH sector, it has yet to launch an IPTV service.
