Serbia prepares digital strategy

November 25, 2008 12.21 Europe/London By Chris Dziadul

BELGRADE BUSINESS BREAKAST – Serbia should have a strategy in place for the transition from analogue to digital broadcasting in the next 2-3 months, according to Milan Jankovic, the executive director of RATEL (Republic Telecommunications Agency).

He added that although Serbia is required to complete the transition by 2015, it would try to do so sooner.

Jankovic also implied that there would be a single DTT multiplex operator, responsible for licensing the channels it carries.
