Planete, Sky Cinema, NTV Plus and Orange have been recognised in the Hot Bird TV Awards, the annual celebration of content broadcast on the Eutelsat satellites, organised by the operator with Eurovision and Satexpo.
“This year’s participants enable us to celebrate the highest quality of content creation and innovative programming formats. Since Eutelsat initiated the Hot Bird TV Awards in 1998 we have seen a constant flow of new thematic channels broadcasting through our satellites across Europe and the Mediterranean Basin,” said Giuliano Berretta, CEO of Eutelsat Communications.
The international jury gave an Excellence Award to Poland’s Planete for its world class documentaries and a Special Award was given to Sky Cinema 1 for its new productions and acquisition of Italian films.
Eutelsat gave its own awards to the Russian pay-TV platform NTV Plus, highlighting its “diverse and quality content” and to Orange TV for its objective of delivering content over multiple platforms.
