Telenet says it has signed 30,000 new customers to its digital TV service in the month since the Flemish cabler launched in the Interkabel area.
“In September, we launched the Telenet Shakes”, explained Koen Verwee, vice president segment marketing, Telenet. “These products combine internet, fixed telephony and digital television and are very well received. They are undoubtedly the basis of the success of digital television in the Interkabel area.” It is the first time that a triple play service has been available to Interkabel customers, who came over to Telenet on October 15.
The downside to the demand has been a lengthening in the amount of time it takes to install the product. Consequently Telenet has begun to recommend its self-install option and has signed contracts with two new sub contractors.
