BSkyB’s director of channels and operations Nicola Bamford is to take over from Hans Seger as chief programming officer of German pay-TV platform Premiere.
“I had 8 thrilling and exciting years at Premiere. I have really enjoyed this time. For me personally it is not an easy decision to leave the company but it is time to accept new challenges. I wish Premiere and its employees a successful future,” said Seger in a prepared statement.
Premiere CEO Mark Williams thanked Seger for his past achievements and thanked him for his support over the past few months.
Seger will officially leave Premiere’s Munich offices on January 31, 2009, though Bamford has immediately taken up his responsibilities, and has been appointed interim senior vice president programming.
Before joining Sky, Bamford was of vice president ventures and business development at Walt Disney Television International. Prior to that, she joined AOL Time Warner after working for five years for News Corporation in the US.
