The Polish DTH platform Cyfrowy Polsat has introduced two major promotions, giving subscribers up to 12 months of programming free of charge.
The first, known as Mini Max, gives access to 23 Polish language channels for a monthly fee of PLN19.90 (€5.66), plus a mini set-top box included in the package that can be purchased for PLN149, for subscribers that sign a 36-month contact.
Great Promotions, on the other hand, offers several programme packages free of charge for the first six months, and there is also an now an offer giving six-months free access to selected HD channels for customers who sign an agreement for an indefinite period.
Subscribers to Cyfrowy Polsat’s Mini package are also being offered four additional Polsat channels until August 31, 2009.
Although Cyfrowy Polsat is by far the largest player in the Polish DTH market, it faces growing competition from a recently launched pre-paid service named Telewizja na Karte (TNK).
