Hungary may shortly have a new Media Law, replacing legislation passed in 1997.
According to index.hu, Fidesz and MSZP. The country’s two leading political parties, are preparing the final text of a new law, which is expected to be voted on in parliament before the end of the year.
The new Media Law would replace the current National Radio and Television Board (ORTT) with a more powerful media regulator.
It would also allow RT Klub and TV2, the country’s two leading broadcasters, to launch more channels.
