Astra 1M, the latest satellite destined for SES Astra’s prime 19 degrees East slot, is ready for launch on November 6.
The satellite is being thrust into orbit of a Proton Breeze M rocket from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan. The EADS Astrium satellite is built on an Eurostar E3000 platform will be launched by International Launch Services (ILS).
The launch of Astra 1M will allow Astra to redeploy other satellites to its 23.5 degrees East, which the company is developing as a hotspot for Central and East Europe, and smaller markets such as the Netherlands.
