KidsCo is today launching into the German market having secured carriage on the Unitymedia cablenet serving North Rhine Westphalia and Hessen. The channel is part of the newly launched ‘kids pack’ of the cabler, as reported in Broadband TV News last week.
The German version of KidsCo will feature including Inspector Gadget, Heathcliff, Cyberchase and Corduroy as well as feature-length family movies.
Paul Robinson, managing director, KidsCo said Germany was a key market for the channel ahead of further expansion in Western Europe. “In selecting KidsCo as part of their package, Unitymedia has recognised that KidsCo is a safe and responsible environment for kids and that the KidsCo brand is a perfect fit for their strong line up of channels already airing in the region.”
Since the NBC Universal, Cookie Jar Group and Corus Entertainment joint venture launched one year ago it has clocked up over 40 territories territories including Spain, Romania, Ukraine, the Middle East, Hungary, Russia, Turkey, Poland, Singapore, the Philippines, South Korea, Palau, Papua New Guinea, Thailand, Hong Kong, Cambodia and countries across sub-Saharan Africa.
