Harmonic has shrugged off the current market despondency with an 11% increase in net sales and a confident fourth quarter outlook. The Sunnyvale technology company recorded sales of $91.5 million (€72.39m) in the third quarter compared to $82.3 million in Q3 2007.
Significantly, Harmonic reported strong third quarter bookings across cable, satellite and telco operations. “We are pleased with our third quarter operating performance, bookings and momentum moving into the fourth quarter,” said Patrick Harshman, Harmonic’s President and Chief Executive Officer. “While the global economic environment creates uncertainty, we remain confident about our strong market position and long-term growth opportunities.”
Harmonic is anticipating third quarter sales to be between $92 and $95 million.
International sales represented 39% of revenue for the third quarter of 2008, compared to 46% in the same period of 2007.
