The first personal video recorder suitable for use with Freesat will be in the shops from mid-November. The Humax Foxsat-HDR recorder boasts a 320GB hard drive capable of storing up to 80 hours of HD programming or 200 hours of standard definition material.
“Humax has developed a reputation for delivering highly functional but easy-to-use digital TV products and we have leveraged this expertise to develop a technologically-advanced digital TV recorder that offers the very best in recording and viewing features for Freesat,” said Humax commercial director Graham North.
The twin-tuner device carries the famliar PVR features of pause and rewind, alongside series recording, radio recording, schedule tracking (allowing for schedule changes assuming the broadcasters maintain their EPG data) and split recordings for when two parts of a film are, for example, broken by a news bulletin.
