Fashion TV has launched its long awaited high definition channel, European satellite distribution is from the Eurobird 9 satellite at 9 degrees East, supplemented by Thaicom 5 that takes the signal into Asia, Australia, Africa and the Middle East.
“After many years of preparation and many requests from our customers we are very happy today to launch Fashion TV in High Definition,” said Fashion TV president Michel Adam.
Launched in 1997, Fashion TV has been readying itself for the launch of an HD service for the past four years, acquiring more than 20 fashion shows each season in the format. Collections that can be seen in HD include those by Dolce & Gabbana, Roberto Cavalli and Elie Saab.
It’s planned to launch the new HD channel into Portugal, Spain, France, Poland, Russia and members of the CIS.
