Russia’s Comstar-UTS is to employ IP Multimedia Subsytem (IMS) technology in order to reduce the cost of digitalising its networks by up to 30%.
According to the company, it will begin introducing IMS in Moscow next year, and this will also allow for an increase in its broadband subscriber base and the provision of more premium services.
Comstar-UTS operates the IPTV service Stream TV and had 783,000 broadband internet subscribers in the Russian capital at the end of June this year.
