The three main Dutch public channels Nederland 1, 2 and 3 are now available live and unabridged on the Telbo MITV IPTV network on the Dutch Caribbean island of Bonaire. Eurosport 1 and 2 are now also available on the island.
The move is remarkable as until now only the international TV service BVN-TV from the combined Dutch and Flemish public broadcasters was the only available Dutch language channel. It is a first that the three public channels are directly available in an overseas part of the Kingdom of The Netherlands.
MITV is the IPTV service from incumbent telco Telbo, which uses a ADSL2+ network to deliver the TV signals. The service was launched last year in cooperation with Manycast Consultancy and Savant Communications.
