Around 250 people demonstrated in front of the headquarters of Kabel Deutschland in Unterfohrung on Tuesday. Workers from Berlin, Hamburg and Hannover were protesting against the lay-off of 300 fellow staffers, according to German press agency DPA.
KDG is restructuring the company in order to remain profitable. The unions involved are afraid about 800 jobs will be shed, but the cable operator insist only 300 people will have to go.
