Sumo TV operator Cellcast produced an operating profit of £615,000 (€818,166) in the six months ending June 30, 2008 on the back of a £1.2 million gain from the sale of two Sky EPG slots earlier this year.
In the same period in 2007, Cellcast reported a loss of £1.5m. First half revenues stood at £6.7 million, up 4.8% on the same period in 2007.
Cellcast has scaled back its staffing levels and administration expenses by some 30% and is now largely a UK-only operation.
In a statement the company warned of the uncertainty around Ofcom’s consultation on the regulation of premium rate telephone services, due to be completed in December 2008.
