CTAM EUROSUMMIT ’08 – BERLIN. UPC Netherlands is experimenting with the delivery of repurposed web content to a standard cable receiver.
“We have a test with a couple of thousand customers offering them repurposed websites,” Damien Reed, vice president video marketing UPC, told the EuroSummit. “It’s a bit basic at present but you can imagine the sort of things you might have on there from sources such as YouTube and Facebook.”
The trial has echoes of some of the early Microsoft TV tests at a time when the TV display of websites was seen as achievable convergence.
