Euro 1080 is dropping the remaining Astra feeds for its HD1 and HD3 channels from October 1.
The high definition pioneer, owned by the production company Alfacam, is dropping the feed at 23.5 degrees East and is instead concentrating on Eutelsat W3A at seven degrees East.
The channel’s principal distribution is in Belgium on Numericable (the former Coditel), INDI, Telenet and Belgacom.
Although an early mover in high definition services, HD1 has slowly given way to the established pay-TV leaders.
