The Greek telecom market may be about to embark on a period of consolidation.
Local reports indicate that the ISPs Hellas on Line (HOL), which is part of Intracom, may be about to buy the smaller local provider Vivodi Telecom. Should a sale go ahead, the new entity would become the fourth largest alternative telco in Greece, with some 116,000 subscribers.
Significantly, Vivodi Telecom is a quadruple play company, offering an ADSL 2+ IPTV service named Vividi Cable TV. It is currently providing a quad package for a fixed monthly fee of €29.90 for a 12-month period.
