Romania’s electronic communications and postal services market was worth €4.61 billion in 2007, according to data published by the regulatory authority ANRCTI.
This represented an increase of around 16.7% on the previous year, when a figure of €3.95 billion was posted.
The ANRCTI adds that while the most significant operators in terms of turnover included the incumbent telco Romtelecom, the most spectacular growth rates were registered by UPC, RCS/RDS and Cosmote.
Romtelecom operates Dolce, one of five DTH platforms in the country, while UPC and RCS/RDS are the two largest cable companies and each also operate a DTH platform (Focus Sat and Digi TV respectively).
