According to data produced by the Portuguese regulator Anacom, there were 2.1 million subscription TV homes in the country at the end of Q2.
Of these, the vast majority (70%) received their services via cable, with the remainder via DTH (24.5%) and other technologies (5.5%).
The highest concentration of cable was in Lisbon and Madeira, while DTH was highest in Alentejo, in central Portugal, and the Azores. The highest IPTV penetration (7.8%) was found in Lisbon.
Grupo ZON had the highest percentage of cable subscribers (74.3%), followed by Cabovisão (14%) and PTV (5.4%).
All told, there were 1.5 million cable subscribers, or 2.9% more than a year earlier.
