Brussels cable operator Coditel has changed its name to Numericable. At the same time, the cablers serving the Belgian capital has launched an aggressively priced triple play offer aimed at beating Belgacom.
Priced at €39.90, Numericable offers a basic digital TV bouquet of 75 SD and eight HD channels, 100 Mbps broadband access (with a 30GB monthly download limit) and unlimited telephone calls to the Belgian fixed network. The rental of the HD cable tuner is an additional €6 a month, the retail price being €249. Although the pricing is more expensive than in France, it is about half that of Belgacom.
Numericable also offers an extended tier at €59.90 a month with 140 SD channels and 11 HD channels and unlimited calls to 42 countries including the US. Both offers include access to the VOD service offering about 5,000 programmes, including content from RTL and TF1. Negotiations are under way with the Dutch language broadcasters.
