Former ITV CEO Charles Allen is one of two new non-executive directors appointed to the board of cablenet Virgin Media.
In the past few days Allen has also picked up a directorship with the production company Endemol and has been appointed as an advisor to the private equity arm of Goldman Sachs Group. He is also non-executive chairman of Global Radio, the UK commercial radio group that recently acquitted GCap Media.
Allen spent three years as CEO of ITV, following the merger between Carlton and Granada, where he spent 13 years.
Sitting alongside him will be the former president of Bright House Networks’ Florida Group John Rigsby. The 30-year industry veteran spent nine years with Paragon Communications, the Time Warner and Houston Industries cable joint venture.
