Digita is to test push VOD over the Finnish DTT network. The TDF-owned operator has installed technology from VODvision for the test that will download content out of primetime.
“Our clients, broadcasters and service operators, are looking to offer their customers new value-added services like virtual channels and On Demand Services. We believe that PushTV technology is important way to produce these kind of new services also via DTT Networks”, said Timo Kiiskinen, vice president media solutions, Digita.
“For us as a vendor of turn-key PushTV platforms, we regard the Digita project as one of the most interesting in Europe and it allows us to stay ahead in the evolving pushTV market,” added VODvision’s CEO Per Appelquist.
The Swedish-owned VODvision is backed by 27M Technologies, alongside Appelquist and Björn Persson. Both Appelquist and Persson are well known in the Nordic market having successfully launched a number of pay-TV operations.
