Liberty Global’s Chellomedia has acquired the documentary channel Spektrum for an unspecified fee.
Spektrum made its debut in 1995 and has until now operated as a joint venture between HBO, Walt Disney Company and SPTI/Columbia Tri-Star.
It reaches 3.6 million homes, through multiple television platforms, in Hungary, the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
Spektrum will become the eighth channel in the Chello Central Europe portfolio, five of which have been added in the last 15 months.
