Ericsson and Tandberg Television are exhibiting as one this year with the two companies working across the distribution chain from video contribution through to consumer services.
Highlights include a new network PVR, compression and transcoding, and a contribution towards this year’s emerging theme of targeted advertising.
The stand has been divided into zones featuring Broadcast Headends. Contribution & Distribution, IPTV, Cable TV, video software, mobile TV and internet TV.
IBC 2008 will see the debut of Tandberg’s RX8310 multi-format professional receiver with IP support, optional DVB-S2 input and support for DIRECTOR (digital distribution control system). The product is designed to receive multiple services or to receive and downconvert a high definition signal into standard definition.
The Tandberg network PVR allows operators to choose from a basic catch-up service, through to startover and full network PVR. A prototype of the user interface will be on display.
Between them Ericsson and Tandberg are looking at ways to enable operators to monetise their newly digitised networks with a range of advertising solutions covering both linear and on demand ad insertion multi-platform campaign management and targeted advertising.
