The Polish national commercial channel Polsat secured ad revenues PLN135,958,693 (€40,502,832) in August, according to data produced by TNS OBOP.
The figure was an impressive 38.5% higher than in the corresponding month last year, and contrasted sharply with falls of 26.9% and 26.7% year-on-year at the public broadcaster’s first and second channels TVP1 and TVP2 respectively.
The national commercial station TVN, in second place behind Polsat, saw its earnings grow by 8.1% year-on-year to PLN115,763,853.
However, it was not all good news for Polsat, with Polsat Sport, one of its leading thematic channels, experiencing a 69.2% year-on-year fall in ad revenues in August.
Significantly, Viva Polska and MTV Polska attracted the fifth and sixth highest ad revenues of all channels in Poland last month.
