A group of cyclists from the BBC and Siemens are preparing to travel to Amsterdam by bike. It’s the sixth year that staff from the BBC’s various technology groups have made the journey, but this year they will be joined by a team from BBC Cymru Wales.
Five people will leave Broadcasting House in Cardiff at 08.00 on Sunday September 7. They will meet up with a further eight people in Epping on September 9, from where they will cycle to Harwich to take the overnight ferry, before travelling via Utrecht to arrive outside Halls 9, 10 and 11 at the RAI on Thursday afternoon (September 11).
The aim is to raise £10,000 for Children in Need, the BBC’s official charity. Sponsorship has been received from Cisco and the fashion chain FatFace.
The journey is 350 miles from Cardiff and 160 miles from Epping.
