Tata Sky launches first Hindi EPG with NDS

September 2, 2008 08.22 Europe/London By Robert Briel

NDS today announced that Tata Sky, a DTH service provider in India, has launched India’s first EPG in the Hindi language in partnership with the company. NDS has been Tata Sky’s technology partner since its service launch in 2006 and has deployed the VideoGuard CA system and MediaHighway middleware.

Hindi is spoken by 40% of India’s one billion population, and the new Hindi EPG will provide an attractive and popular addition to Tata Sky’s product offering.

The design and delivery of the Hindi EPG is the first of its kind in the Indian pay-TV market. In India, NDS has local sales and support offices in Mumbai and New Delhi, along with an R&D centre in Bangalore employing more than 1,000 people.
