Poland’s four leading TV channels are slowly but surely losing viewers to thematic services.
According to data produced by TNS OBOP, the public broadcaster’s first channel TVP1 attracted the highest audience share amongst viewers aged 4+ in August (22.96%), though this contrasted with 23.45% in the corresponding month last year.
The shares of TVP2 (15.77% v 16.29%), Polsat (14.77% v 16.81%) and TVN (11.97% v 13.31%) were also lower.
Although news-based TVN24, too, recorded a fall (3.74% v 3.84%), all other thematic channels performed much better than 12 months earlier.
The star performer was probably Disney Channel, which saw its audience share more than double from 0.49% to 1.07% over the period.
