Virgin Media is teaming with sports and entertainment specialist Perform to create a single online portal for premium sports content. The e-Player has already been adopted by publishers including ITV Sport, News International, The Guardian, Trinity Mirror and Metro.
Perform is the former Premium TV, owned at one time by Virgin’s predecessor NTL.
The multi-channel player will include highlights of the Premier League and Football League as well as European and international football plus tennis, golf, rugby, cricket, darts and basketball content drawn from Perform’s Omnisport.tv brand.
Publishers receive the e-Player for free and will receive a proportion of advertising revenue based on the amount of traffic they provide.
