Swedish cablenet Com Hem is continuing on the upward curve. The operator reported first half revenues of SEK1,869 million (€200.33m) an increase of 9% on the same period in 2007. EBITDA for the first half of 2008 increased by 3% to SEK778 million.
Com Hem, owned by The Carlyle Group and Providence Equity Partners, has continued to invest in the upgrade of its network. A total of SEK408 million was sunk into the cablenet’s infrastructure and customer service in the first half of 2008.
Digital TV continues to perform for Com Hem – the operator being one of the few places since switchover where the Swedish consumer can find analogue TV – digital subscriptions increased from 410,000 to 428,000 year-on-year. At the same time analogue pay-TV subscriptions fell from 104,000 to 96,000.
Telephony subscribers increased by 10,000 to 287,000 and triple play subscribers by 12,000 to 185,000.
