Mobile TV has first to prove itself to a wider audience, but should it make the leap into an everyday distribution platform we now have the ability to target advertising to individual users.
Packet Vision has partnered with UDcast to offer what the two companies believe to be the world’s first solution for targeted television advertising over mobile TV. The demonstration will be seen for the first time at this year’s IBC on the UDcast stand. The argument is that the introduction of addressable television advertising will bring in sufficient revenues to increase the installed base and support the platform.
The DVB-H demonstration follows earlier work by Packet Vision in managing targeted advertising campaigns over IPTV networks. UDcast’s mobile TV platform, including geographically specoific content and advertising support has already been integrated into the transmitters of a number of suppliers.
