The French media authority CSA has ruled that Métropole Télévision must make an offer for carriage of the M6 channel within a period of six weeks to the DTH platform Bis Television. The offer should be comparable with distribution contracts made to other platforms.
The authority acted after a complaint from AB Sat, owner of Bis Television, which said the broadcaster refused to enter into negotiations with it concerning the carriage of M6.
Since all other platforms are allowed to carry M6, the CSA has ordered the broadcaster to offer the channel to AB Sat at similar, non-discrimatory conditions. It said Métropole Television cannot call upon its commercial freedom to refuse to enter to do business with the platform.
