TV2 Film is to broadcast all of its output in the correct aspect ratio. Distributor YouSee, the former TDC Kabel, says that from tomorrow movies released in 4:3 will be shown in 4:3 and those released in 16:9 will be broadcast in the 16:9 widescreen format.
The move highlights the number of channels that continue to broadcast in the 4:3 format: these include BBC World, where the compromise 14:9 format is used for news broadcasts, MTV and CNN.
