James Kydd, Virgin Media’s managing director of brand and marketing, is to leave the cablenet at the end of September.
Kydd joined Virgin Media in following the acquisition of Virgin Mobile in July 2006 and was one of the forced behind the launch of Virgin Media the following February. His work included the Uma Thuman campaign that the actress replicated for Italy’s Mediaset Premium.
Kydd said he was proud of the work the Virgin Media marketing team had done over the past two years.
“During that time, we’ve put the ntl and Telewest brands behind us and turned Virgin Media into the UK’s sixth most loved brand. With the brand now firmly established in consumers’ minds, I now believe it’s time for a new challenge. I wish Virgin Media all the best for the future.”
A replacement is due to be announced in the next few weeks.
